Coaching is available for new Members FREE of charge and the Club has a
number of sets of bowls available for new Members. These bowls are
loaned until the new players have decided to play the game of Lawn Bowls
seriously, when it is hoped that they would purchase a set of their own.
The Club employs professional coaches and it has a number of Nationally
Accredited Club coaches who are available for the coaching of Members at
various times during the week. New bowlers would be given instruction on
the basic skills of the game to a point where they feel confident about
playing in competitions. It is also important that new bowlers are
instructed in the etiquette of the game so that they are not embarrassed
by doing something that is not generally acceptable.
Members are encouraged to:
-
Seek INDIVIDUAL COACHING from our coaches,
while all coaches will coach either men or women, the women have coaches
available on Thursday morning from 10.30 am and the men can book for
individual coaching in timeslots on Wednesdays from 4.30 pm.
-
Attend TEAM COACHING for Tuesday Pennant on Mondays at 1pm and for
Saturday Pennant on Thursdays at 4.30 pm.
-
Attend SKILLS TRAINING that is provided on
several Sunday mornings during the season, as well at times on a Tuesday
evening or Thursday mornings.
-
While coaches could approach players and suggest that the player may need
to adjust their delivery, it is best, and more successful, if a player
recognises that they have a deficiency in their game and seeks help from
a coach.
